On April 11, 2009, a 47 year old Scottish lady from Blackburn, Scotland became an overnight sensation. Not only did we discover the angelical voice of Susan Boyle , but she also taught us all a valuable lesson on “not judging a book by its cover”.

Susan Boyle on "Britain's Got Talent"
I have to confess, upon seeing the video on YouTube for the first time, I was brought to tears. Here was a lady who, more than likely, was bullied and ridiculed most of her life. She says she’s never been married or kissed. And she’ll be the first to tell you that she’s not the most glamorous lady in Scotland. She simply has a passion for singing and wants to share it with the world.
Right before her appearance on the UK televsion program “Britain’s Got Talent”, Boyle was interviewed by hosts Ant & Dec. The immediate perception was this was going to be a joke of a performace. When Boyle walked on stage prior to her performace, the audience and judges were seen clearly snickering at this ungroomed lady who seemed to have all the grace of a cow. But when that first note came out flowing out of her vocal cords, those perceptions immediately vanished.
After that performance, Boyle’s life immediately took a dramatic turn. She has been interviewed by almost every news media in the UK. Across the Atlantic, media outlets in the USA such as CNN, ABC and NBC have interviewed her as well. Her performance on “Britain’s Got Talent” has been posted on YouTube and less than a week after her performance the video clip reached over 30 million hits.
Scotland and the world has someone they can be very proud of. Susan Boyle. It just goes to show you that some of the greatest gifts from God come in plain paper wrapping.

Susan Boyle in her LA Hotel
Outside Rockefeller Plaza in New York City, Susan Boyle sings and was wowing the crowds with her beautiful voice. She’s looking really confident, just like the songstress she is meant to be. She probably can’t believe her eyes, she’s singing in New York, wowing the crowds outside of the Rockefeller Plaza. Su-bo is living the dream. Oh my God! She is famous! She’s here to celebrate the release of her debut album on the Today Show. Susan has become much more than just a video clip on YouTube in a little over eight months. From a little village in Scotland where she lived a quiet life with her little cat Pebbles, this woman has triumphed and is travelling near and far to promote her new album. Her album was number 1 with Amazon as the most pre-ordered album in history. She is also a top-seller at iTunes.
Her album is a mix, unpredictable, like Susan herself, with classic rock songs, blues a Christmas number and some jazz. It may become the most played album on the radio. We shall see.
