Susan Boyle’s Dream Almost Comes True

Susan Boyle’s dream almost came true on last night’s Britain’s Got Talent show last night. She came in second place and the dance group Diversity took the first prize of £100,000.

Wearing a blue sequined dress, The Susan Boyle performed the song, “I Dreamed a Dream.” Susan gracefully accepted defeat by saying may the best man win. She looked a little relieved at this decision because as we all know, she has been hounded by the press during the last two weeks and this has been causing her untold amounts of stress and pressure.

However, Susan’s worldwide fame has grown by leaps and bounds in a little over seven weeks because of the internet and the millions of people who have watched her performances on YouTube. She has become an internet superstar.

What’s in store for this lovely 48 year old Scottish woman? She already has a future of millions of dollars in CD deals and endorsements. By no way is she the loser.

Why did she lose? It was perhaps because of two things. One would have to be the cruelty of the press in the last two weeks which has changed the British public’s mind somewhat. The other thing is that the pressure for a very ordinary woman from a small village in Scotland of rising to superstardom and celebrity status has been “relieved.” The other thing we have to consider is that her last performance of “Memory,” from the Broadway musical Cats, because of nerves, started off a little off key, though Susan recovered quickly her strong voice. This little falter, no doubt due to nerves, caused critics to question her talents.

However, Susan has become a successful trademark, a name, a voice and woman recognized and loved throughout the world. No doubt, her career, following her dream, will soar to new heights. People will want to come and see her sing and perform and buy her CDs.

Another interesting thing to consider is that even though Susan didn’t win first prize which included an opportunity to sing before the Queen, the Queen will probably still want to hear her sing. The dance group Diversity who have not achieved half the fame of Susan around the world will probably only slightly amuse the Queen. I am sure, the Queen will be sending a special invitation out to Susan. Because, who doesn’t want to hear Susan sing?
