Susan Boyle Stars on America’s Got Talent
As I mentioned in my last article, Susan Boyle appeared last night on America’s Got Talent. Of course, I was a little apprehensive that she might get a case of nervousness, my worries were unfounded. She gave a stellar performance.
This was the final episode of the TV show America’s Got Talent where they decided the winner of this show. The winning contestant was a surprise, just like American Idol’s winner last season and Britain’s Got Talent’s winner last season. What I’m talking about is the fact that it appears that the most talented performers on these shows always come in second place. On American Idol, Adam Lambert, the most talented singer came in second place, Susan on Britain’s Got Talent came in second in the contest and last night, Barbara Padilla also came in second. It’s a very strange thing. Have you heard lately of any of the accomplishments of the winners in these TV contests? No, not really. You only hear further of these second place winners. Is this a coincidence?
Now, let’s get back to Susan Boyle on America’s Got Talent last night. First, they gave us a video recall of her stellar rise to international fame, a collection of interviews with Oprah and other television talk show hosts, the response of the press, her life in Scotland, the audience and judges’ of Britain’s Got Talent and their first impressions of her before she opened her mouth to sing with that voice of hers from heaven. We heard her in an interview saying that she was always on the outside looking in and now she is a part of that world, instead of looking at it from afar.
Next up was Susan. She was wearing a long black dress looking composed and elegant. Her song was the new single from her upcoming album, Wild Horses, by the Rolling Stones. Let me describe her presentation of this song. It was sober, deep, passionate, strong and emotional. She’s got that voice, that presentation. I think she has had lots of coaching and esteem building from Simon Boyle and Piers Morgan. She carried off the song to a roaring success and the crowd responded to her beautiful voice. They responded with a standing ovation. Marvellous! She gave an amazing performance which will surely shut up all the naysayers. Personally, she makes the hairs on the back of one’s neck stand up. That’s a sure sign for beauty and talent.
Also appearing on the show was the sexy Shakira, but without a voice like Susan Boyle’s, Shakira and all those other young pop stars have to gyrate around like strippers in order to sell songs. I feel sorry for young singers today because not only do you have to sing, you have to be able to dance like a stripper as a career requirement if you want to be a singer. Have you ever noticed? Kinda makes you feel sorry for them because, in a way, it’s really pathetic. Susan doesn’t have to do this because she has one of the greatest voices in this day and age. Susan has dignity and THAT VOICE!
Susan Boyle is a woman for all of us, she has inspired the world and lets us all know that we should never give up on our dreams. Her album is due out on November 27th.
